Literacy Lab
The Literacy Lab provides comprehensive Orton-Gillingham reading and writing instruction utilizing evidence-based curriculum and best practices for charter and home educated students in
kindergarten through 3rd grade.
Our aim is to ensure the acquisition and mastery of core foundational literacy skills so that our students are well prepared to navigate the more advanced content of subsequent grade levels. To this end, the program is designed to meet or exceed the grade level standards of the California Department of Education in language arts.
Enrollment begins March 21, 2025 for the Fall Semester 2025

Dyslexia Screening
Using appropriate screening measures, we are able to uncover specific learning deficits, or symptomatic markers, that are characteristic of dyslexia. Effective screening can help determine the need for a more comprehensive evaluation leading to formal diagnosis.

Formative & Ongoing
Assessments
-
Assessment plays a vital role in diagnostic and prescriptive instruction that is designed to meet the individualized needs of students and effectively support them along their path to literacy.
-
In addition to our dyslexia screener, we offer a placement assessment and an informal comprehensive assessment. These allow us to determine students' current skills, existing learning gaps and challenges, as well as their grade level proficiencies.
-
For the comprehensive assessment, a written report of results is provided to parents along with suggestions for how to support their students at home and advocate for them at school.
-
Once a student is enrolled in our Literacy Lab or intervention services, ongoing progress monitoring allows us to fine tune instruction to ensure steady advancement toward targeted grade level benchmarks.
Dyslexia Seminars
We are pleased to offer seminars to local schools and districts in efforts to educate as many teachers and parents as possible about dyslexia, the importance of early identification, and the steps that can be taken to provide dyslexic students with the support they need.

Summer Bridge
The Summer Bridge is a seven week program designed to support Incoming 1st-6th grade students who have fallen behind in foundational literacy skills acquisition during the school year. Class placement is determined based on level of skills mastery rather than on grade level. This allows us to meet students where they are and apply the principles of Structured Literacy to narrow identified learning gaps in preparation for the upcoming school year.
